Assalamualaikum...
How many of you have not seen this sign, anywhere? Well, maybe not the exact sign, but signs similar to this, with a well known message - DO NOT LITTER - or -JANGAN BUANG SAMPAH MERATA-RATA -.
And, how many of us have seen places where these signs are clearly visible, but there are rubbish everywhere around the place?
It seems that a lot of us either do not know how to read this sign or just being plain ignorant. I've been to ATM machines (no place mentioned, you can see it everywhere in Malaysia) where there are transaction slips all over the floor, and the trash bin provided is either empty or not even half full!
The other headache is throwing rubbish out of the vehicle. Do they think that someone is following their car with a rubbish bin, ready to collect their litter? Rubbish!!!
I use the ELITE highway to go to work. Too many times i've seen drivers paying their toll, asking for the receipt and then, THROW the receipt out of the window! If you don't want to keep it, then DO NOT ask for the receipt! Or you can use Touch&Go or Smart Tag.
Please, please, my dear friends, DO NOT LITTER & HELP TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITY CLEAN!
I've been to Kota Kinabalu a few times. On 9th August this year, a few ham clubs there joined the local authorities in a campaign named "Kempen Anti Kutu Sampah Laut" at the beautiful Tanjung Aru beach, meant to go around the town of Kota Kinabalu, collect rubbish and at the same time, spread the DO NOT LITTER awareness to the citizen. I was there, observing. If they can organize a campaign like this to help keep their community clean, why can't we?
To the Kota Kinabalu hams, congratulations! To others, what are WE doing to keep our community clean?
